Pic shows: The car knocks down the pedestrians This is the moment a fast travelling car ploughs into two pedestrians waiting to cross the road after it was hit by a turning bus. The incident took place in the city of Yaroslavl in the north-western Russian region of Yaroslavl Oblast when the driver of a white Suzuki tried to slip through a busy intersection at speed. In the CCTV footage, two people are seen standing on the corner of an icy road as an estate car and a red bus turn left at the busy intersection. Meanwhile, tearing down the road is a white car which does not slow down as it approaches the crossroads and the motorist tries to slip between the estate car and the bus. However, the bus hits the side of the car and it skids along the road and ploughs into two pedestrians on the pavement who are sent flying into the thick snow. According to local media, an ambulance was called to the scene to assist a 53-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman who were then rushed to hospital. The elderly woman has undergone surgery and is now in a stable condition. There have been no further reports on the man’s condition. Meanwhile, several bus passengers also suffered minor injuries during the crash. The intersection in the footage has been dubbed "cursed" as road accidents occur there frequently. A police spokesperson has confirmed that the incident is being investigated.
