The family father, aged 31, was identified only as Georg K. because of local privacy laws. He is believed to have used a knife to butcher his 29-year-old wife and their three children. Police say that the wife named as Olesija K, their three-year-old daughter Anastasia, seven-year-old son Dima and 9-year-old son Maikel all died at the apartment in Gunzenhausen in the southern German state of Bavaria before the dad attempted to kill himself by jumping out of a window. Witnesses report during the incident hearing him shout: "You’ve made a mess of my life, now you see what you get!" Georg K. However survived sustaining severe injuries after jumping from the window and is currently in hospital in a serious condition but is expected to survive. A police source said: "We are assuming it’s a domestic dispute and that the father is the perpetrator." Chief prosecutor Michael Schrotberger said they tried to interrogate the suspect but he refused to give a statement. Now investigators say they are focusing on obtaining information from relatives, friends and colleagues. Schrotberger said: "They will now be questioned in order to find out more about the motive." According to a police report, the suspect's wife had recently lodged a domestic violence complaint against her husband at the police station and a restraining order was issued against him on the 21st June. The house key was taken away from him and he was prohibited from entering his former apartment. The suspect first violated the restraining order last Sunday, when police were called to intervene.
