This is the moment a dizzy dancer takes one twirl too many and staggers into a river in northern China.

The bizarre footage – shot in the city of Liaoyang, in the coastal province of Liaoning – shows the woman apparently in a world of her own as the spins around on the river bank.

As she flaps a mini cloak attached to her sleeves she seems to be having the time of her life.

But within moments she begins to stagger wildly as she clearly loses her balance.

Spectators – as seen in a passer-by’s video – rush to help her but she teeters around the water’s edge and falls in before they can stop her.

Luckily the water was only ankle deep and rescuers rushed to her aid fishing her dripping wet out of the chilly water, reported local media.
