The car flies into a low wall and knocks over a street light and a tree on its way before coming to a halt upside down.

The security guard runs to safety and firefighters were called to the scene.

Images taken from the rescue operation show the black SUV upside down on the pavement with rescuers shining torches inside.

Reports state the driver of the car, who has not been named, died in the accident.

Local media report the car had been in the air for seven metres (23 feet) although it is unclear what caused the accident.

The authorities checked the area to collect evidence and the investigation is ongoing.

Netizen ‘Enrique Garcia’ said: “One less idiot driving high speed, we hope the insurance company will pay for the damages he caused.”

And ‘Antonio Hernandez Mendoza’ commented: “It is not a lack of skills, it is a lack of responsibility, in an urban area you cannot drive high speed, sometimes drivers want to show off their vehicles, the best part is that he did not damage other innocent people.”
