Ferreira, who resides in the Brazilian coastal municipality of Santos, said the stroke was caused by high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

She told local media: “I woke up on a normal Saturday with a little bit of a headache. I decided to go to the bathroom and fell over. I called my neighbour because I was no longer able to get up.”

Ferreira was taken to hospital where she spent five days in intensive care and a further 25 days in the nursing ward.

Used to exercising regularly, the influencer told local media: “My time in hospital has been preparation for a new reality, which will be totally different.”

The stroke has left Ferreira unable to walk with the whole left side of her body paralysed.

She hopes that physiotherapy and work with a speech therapist, psychologist and nutritionist will allow her to recover some movement and the ability to speak over the coming months.

She told local media: “A stroke takes away your body movement, it leaves you unable to perform your activities, and this has made me very depressed.

“It was very good to see that it’s possible to recover your life.”

Ferreira has been recovering for the last four months and is determined to get her life back. She has already got back some of her body movement.

She told local media: “Every day is a victory. Now it’s about living one day at a time.”

Ferreira also shared a message of advice to her followers: “I don’t wish this upon anyone, so I will do whatever I can to help. I had high blood pressure and didn’t know it. I also had high cholesterol, and I didn’t go for any tests, no matter how poorly I was feeling, so prevention is always important.”
