Stunning Drug Dealer Dubbed Kitty Of Crackland To Remain In Custody After Bail Request To Care For Baby Turned Down

This teen girl dubbed the “Kitty of Crackland” after she was caught with cannabis, cocaine and crack in her underwear in a notorious drug-dealing spot has had her request for bail so she could care for her baby denied.

The Judiciary of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo denied the request made by the lawyer representing 19-year-old Lorraine Cutier Bauer Romeiro, who has been in preventive custody since 22nd July.

Judge Gerdinaldo Quichaba Costa said the reasons for her preventive custody still applied, and, as such, there was no justification for her provisional release.

He wrote: “Especially, the guarantee of public order, as the accused was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of drug trafficking, and was already undergoing other legal proceedings in relation to the same crime.”

He rejected the possibility of house arrest, stating: “(T)he defendant failed to comply with the same benefit in other legal proceedings recently.”

Romeiro was arrested in an area of the city of Sao Paulo dubbed Cracolandia (Crackland), due to its high incidence of drug dealing and public drug use, in June.

The police found that she was hiding cannabis in her bra and cocaine and crack cocaine in her knickers when they strip-searched her.

She was released on bail, as she had a baby daughter to look after. However, she swiftly changed addresses without notifying the police, who arrested her at her boyfriend’s house in the nearby city of Barueri in July.

During her second arrest, the police seized a rucksack containing large quantities of cannabis, cocaine, crack cocaine, chloroethane and ecstasy.

She allegedly sold drugs she had bought for BRL 21,000 (GBP 2,861) per kilogramme (2.2 lbs) for BRL 35,000 (GBP 4,768) per kilogramme, representing a 67 per cent markup.

The police believe she was a high-ranking drug dealer and they are investigating whether she was involved with a criminal gang.
