This is the shocking maggot-infested fridge a student in Malaysia has returned to after going back to his flat after two months of lockdown.

The stomach-wrenching images were taken after netizen ‘Adib Ozil’ returned back to his student flat in the city of Shah Alam, the capital of the state of Selangor in western Malaysia, two months after leaving the property along with his flatmates just before Malaysia coronavirus lockdown came into play.

The images show how their fridge has become completely infested with maggots, with the larvae lining the edges, shelves and produce.

Local media report the power had been cut in the flat, most likely from a tripped fuse in a lightning storm, leaving the fridge at room temperature.

One of the netizen’s flatmates reportedly joked they would need to “wear full PPE gear like frontliners” to clean the fridge of all the maggots.

The images have been shared over 3,800 times online and netizens were quick to comment, such as ‘naddayyy’ who wrote: “Just throw the whole damn fridge cause this is an absolute nightmare. (sic).”
