This is the moment a schoolboy pulls out a gun and tries to shoot a teacher in the head three times for humiliating him by telling him he smelt, but fails when the weapon jams.

The shocking incident in which the schoolboy repeatedly pulls the trigger is in stark contrast to the teacher seated in front of him, who does not even notice what is happening behind him as he sits drinking a coffee and talking to his fiancée.

Realising that the gun is not going to go off, the schoolboy tucks it away and runs off.

The incident occurred in the city of Guaratinga in the northeastern Brazilian state of Bahia last Sunday (15th August).

Local news site G1 reports that the suspect in the footage is a 15-year-old, who has not been named, but who was a former student of the professor.

The motive behind the attempted shooting has not yet been confirmed but local media reports the student had a disagreement with the professor after he told him he smelt bad.

The student’s mother allegedly filed a complaint against the school and demanded that the professor be punished in 2018.

The professor, who has not been named, was having a drink with his fiancee and had no idea what had happened until a person on the table next to the couple pointed out that someone had been standing behind him with a gun to his head.

Police said that the student has been called into the police station where he will be questioned, but has not as yet been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
