Strong Winds Rip Roof Off Russian Shopping Centre

This is the moment strong winds blow the roof off a Russian shopping centre during a severe storm.

The incident was filmed in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky in the south-central Russian region of Kemerovo Oblast and was shared on a local social network where it has been viewed 24,000 times.

In the footage filmed by an onlooker, a massive section of the roof is seen being lifted up and blown away from the building by strong gusts.

As debris continues to fly around the area, the cameraperson drives towards the shopping centre for a closer look

According to the local authorities, no injuries were reported during the storm.

A spokesperson told local media: “There have been no causalities and no one was affected financially or physically.”

Reports said that the local council had to use all their resources to clear up the debris in the aftermath of the severe storm.

Local media also stated that the affected shopping centre is a new building.

Netizen ‘Selena N’ said: “The way that roof is flying around is scary!”

Leninsk-Kuznetsky is situated on the banks of the Inya River and is considered a key coal mining region.
