This poor dog has died from its injuries after reportedly being sexually abused by a man in the street.

The alleged bestiality attack took place in the middle of a street in the municipality of Quinchia, in the western-central Colombian department of Risaralda.

Valentina Guarin Patino of the animal rights foundation Animal Estoy Contigo (Animal I Am With You) was informed of the incident and went to collect the injured stray dog.

She took the dog to a veterinary clinic in Manizales and stayed with it until the animal passed away on Saturday.

Patino said the dog was suffering from internal bleeding and back pain and could not control its sphincter.

The abused animal was also unresponsive to calls and other stimuli.

She told local newspaper told El Tiempo: “At nine minutes past seven, Achilles, our invincible warrior, gave a last breath in my arms. It began to deteriorate rapidly, and it was imperative to give it a decent rest. The pain that I feel in my heart I have not felt before.”

Before passing away, vets said it was unlikely the dog would have walked again if it had survived the ordeal.

It is believed that the alleged act of bestiality took place on 27th October and was confirmed by an x-ray and other noticeable injuries.

According to Patino, a dog called Alma was also sexually abused in the street before being cared for by the animal foundation in June this year.

She said: “According to a witness, the man lubricated the dog’s anus, put a condom on and penetrated it. He was seen with grease and blood splatters over his clothes.”

The dog escaped when the witness intervened, but could not be tracked down for two weeks.

Alma is still recovering from the ordeal and is scared of shadows and men’s voices, according to Patino.

The animal foundation has reported both incidents to the local authorities.

It is unclear if investigations are underway.
