This is the moment an allegedly-stolen cow falls off the back of a lorry and the poor creature is left limping around on the road.

The poor animal, which appears injured after the incident, was filmed falling out of the lorry in the city of Krasnoyarsk in the central Russian region of Krasnoyarsk Krai.

According to local media, after the video was posted on the Russian social network ‘VK’ (Vkontakte), and netizen ‘Anna Nikolaeva’ commented: “Help me find that vehicle, we beg you.

“This is our parents’ cow, stolen during the night. No one will investigate it and it is the second time it has happened!”

However, the regional administration of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs denied the allegation.

A spokesperson said: “Traffic cops punished the motorist for the illegal transportation of goods.

“Information about the alleged theft was not confirmed, the man had paperwork to show that he had bought the cow.”

The Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson added that the driver has been fined 500 RUB (6 GBP) for the traffic offence.

It is unclear whether the matter is being investigated further.

In the video footage, the lorry is seen pulling away at a green light as the back doors open and the poor cow tumbles out.

The dazed animal gets to its feet and starts to hobble around, apparently after sustaining a leg injury.

Meanwhile, one of the men in the lorry is seen walking towards the injured cow before the video ends.
