This footage shows sparks flying as firefighters use a large rescue saw and then a pair of big cutters to free a boy who had accidentally handcuffed himself while playing at home.
Authorities in the locked-down city of Xiangyang, in Central China’s Hubei Province, were called a home in Fancheng District on 7th March.
The boy, 5, had reportedly put the cuffs around his right wrist while his parents were not minding him, and neither he nor his family could get the metal restraints off again.

According to reports, the blunder happened because the boy was “bored”, having been cooped up at home during a province-wide lockdown which is now entering its sixth consecutive week since the COVID-19 outbreak in January.
The fire service dispatched one fire engine and six rescuers to the boy’s home.
Video shows firefighters first attempting to remove the handcuffs using a large circular saw, sending sparks flying as the rescue tool fails to undo the police restraints.

They then put a piece of cardboard in a gap between the boy’s arm and the handcuffs, which they slowly snap in half using a large pair of rescue cutters.
The rescue took roughly 10 minutes, with the boy’s arm fortunately unharmed despite the scare, the authorities said.
The boy’s parents did not reveal why they had a pair of real handcuffs at home, or where they got them from.
