This is the moment a Spanish man dressed up as Freddie Mercury recreates the iconic video from ‘I Want To Break Free’ at his window as his dressed-up neighbours all join in.

The hilarious scenes were recorded during coronavirus lockdown in the city of Gijon in the northern Spanish region of Asturias.

The video shared by local resident Tamara Fernandez shows an unnamed standing at his window in an orange wig with fake breasts and a pink shirt in homage to Freddi Mercury.

Queen’s ‘I Want To Break Free’ then blares from a speaker and footage shows other neighbours dressed up as women with cleaning equipment in a hilarious recreation of the music video for the song.

Neighbours can be seen cleaning their windows with brooms and mops in wigs, whilst the man nearest the camera dances with his hoover.

A woman can be heard laughing and saying “oh please, this is hilarious”.

The video has received almost 200,000 views online and over 4,800 likes as Spaniards find creative ways to entertain themselves in the country’s strict lockdown.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Spain has suffered 112,065 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 10,348 deaths and 26,743 recovered.
