This is the moment parents appear to allow their three children to sit at the front of their van without seatbelts on as one boy steers the vehicle on his dad’s lap.

The 35-year-old mother, who filmed her son driving the vehicle in La Alberca in the south-eastern Spanish region of Murcia, drew attention to the incident when she shared the footage on social media.

The footage sparked outrage online and the Spanish Civil Guard are investigating the parents as a result, according to reports.

In the video, a small boy is seen sitting on his dad’s lap as they both take turns steering the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the filming mum then pans to her two other children sitting next to her at the front of the van who both appear to not be wearing their seatbelts.

At the end of the footage, the boy is seen being encouraged to sound the horn.

Reports state that the unnamed 38-year-old father and 35-year-old mother are likely to be charged with “crimes against road safety” after the police and traffic authorities confirmed they are investigating the parents.
