This is the moment a man with a samurai sword threatens his neighbours for being too noisy as they celebrate the start of a Spanish festival from their balconies.

The shocking incident took place in the neighbourhood of Los Remedios in the city of Seville, in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia as local residents celebrated the start of the ‘Feria de Abril’ (Seville Fair), the city’s largest annual festival.

Local media report residents were celebrating on their balconies when one resident walked down to the street fed up with the noise.

In the video, the man can be seen brandishing a samurai sword, shouting at his neighbours and saying “this is a real samurai sword” as he hits it onto the tarmac.

Residents can be heard chanting before he puts the sword back into its sheath saying he is “fed up”.

He can be heard telling the residents to come down to the street but they appear to laugh at him.

Locals were celebrating the ‘Noche del Pescaito’ (the Night of Fried Fish), the traditional beginning of the Seville Fair and the fair’s biggest party, which was been celebrated since 1846.

The national police went to the scene shortly after but they did not find the man, local media report.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Spain has registered 226,629 cases with COVID-19, and 23,190 deaths.
