This video seen 10 million times shows a soldier pouncing on a suspect inside a train station and pinning him to the floor in seconds after he allegedly attacked him with a stick.

CCTV images from the Xi’an North Railway Station shows Li Yuxiang, a member of the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force, standing guard next to a police booth on the evening of 15th October.

The suspect holding a wooden stick walks into view and stands in front of Li, who motions for him to step back, away from the train station sentry point in Xi’an, capital of north-western China’s Shaanxi Province.

However, an altercation ensues when the stick-wielding citizen appears to strike Li with his weapon, causing the soldier to raise his shield in order to protect himself.

Li then leaps off his raised platform and pounces on the suspect, pinning him to the floor of the train station in some seven seconds as more of his colleagues arrive to help arrest the culprit.

The suspect was handed over to local police, but his motives as well as his identity remained undisclosed at the time of writing.

The People’s Armed Police – sometimes abbreviated as PAP – is a paramilitary police force under China’s Ministry of Public Security.

Its officers are used, among other purposes, for internal security, counter-terrorism, and riot control.
