This is the frightening moment an eight-year-old boy accidentally falls off a ski lift.

The boy was reportedly accompanied by a coach as they were on their way to a snowboarding lesson in Zhangjiakou, in northern China’s Hebei Province, on 19th January.

But the lad had to be rushed to hospital instead after slipping off a moving cable car.

An unnamed witness captured the scary accident on video, which was later shared on Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok.

In the footage, the boy can be seen trying to hold on for dear life as both his legs hang loose in the air, with his snowboard dragging him further down.

The coach apparently grabbed the student as soon as he found him slipping, but the boy slowly slipped out of his hands and then fell.

He was taken to hospital, where examinations revealed he had luckily sustained only minor injuries and bruises.

He has since been discharged and sent to the Taiwu Ski Resort – where the boy’s family was staying – to rest.

The following day, staff from the Taiwu Ski Resort tried to clear up confusion to avoid safety concerns and claimed that there are two types of cable cars found at the resort.

Staff said that the one the injured student was riding on was a seat-type, wherein guests could not move around.

They added that when the Taiwu coach led an eight-year-old student to take the chair lift cable car, he slipped out by accident.
