This shocking footage shows how a biker was tossed in the air like a rag doll when he ploughed into the side of a turning car.

A security camera caught the incident as it unfolded on a street in Paranagua, Parana state, southern Brazil on Sunday night (4th September).

The footage shows how a car turns across a two-way road to pull into a car park in an apparently illegal move.

As the vehicle moves across the opposing lane, an oncoming motorbike smashes into its side.

Its pilot can be seen somersaulting through the air and landing on the tarmac with a thud as onlookers put their hands on their heads in shock and run over to help.

The biker was taken to a local hospital. Remarkably, it was found that he had only sustained a few non-life-threatening injuries to his body in the collision.

The motorist was taken to the same hospital with injuries, and was similarly found not to be in danger.

The individuals’ identities were withheld in reports.

The biker’s Honda XRE300 motorcycle, however, was left a mangled wreck, while the motorist’s Renault Sandero hatchback was left with a dent in its side and a cracked windscreen.
