This footage seen over a million times shows a sleepy fireman accidentally grabbing his blanket instead of his uniform after being woken by a station alarm in the early hours of the morning.

Firefighter Wang Jun, 21, had just fallen asleep when the alarm rang, and he and his colleagues bolted downstairs towards their fire engines at around 1:50am local time on 15th November.

CCTV footage from the corridors of the Shengsi County Brigade, which is under the Zhoushan city fire service in East China’s Zhejiang Province, shows the confused and sleep rescuer clutching the blanket under his right arm as he responds to the emergency call.

He sprints down the stairs with the bundle in his arms as the video ends, and did not realise until his confused colleagues asked him about it.

Wang, who joined the fire service in 2017, recalled: “I was supposed to take my uniform but accidentally grabbed my blanket instead.

“I didn’t notice and ran down the stairs. I finally realised in the car park when my colleagues pointed it out.”

Wang said he did not have time to return to his room for his uniform, so he dropped the blanket in the car park and grabbed a spare before climbing onto a fire engine.
