Singer And Manager Shot Dead In 300-Bullet Shootout

This footage features a 300-bullet shootout which saw a popular singer and his manager covered in blood in their pickup truck after they were killed in the gunfight.

The shocking incident took place in the streets of the city of Ciudad Obregon, in the north-western Mexican state of Sonora and popular singer Luis Mendoza Garcia, 23. who sang ‘narcocorridos’ songs about drug trafficking, was killed along with his manager who has not been named.

In the video, dozens of gunshots can be heard ringing out and the person recording then walks up to the pickup truck which Mendoza and his manager were in. 

The vehicle is riddled with bullet holes and inside the smashed windows both victims can be seen covered in blood as they are slumped motionless in the front seats.

Local media report armed men in at least vehicles had opened fire on the pickup truck with assault rifles, firing at least 300 shots.

The Municipal and Traffic Police reportedly said in a press statement that “on Saturday afternoon in Ciudad Obregon there was an incident of armed aggression against two men in a pickup truck who were attacked with large weapons, both men died immediately and more than 300 bullets shots were found at the scene”.

The attackers managed to escape the area before the police arrived and crime scene investigators reportedly found over 100 bullets casings. Forensic scientists arrived at the scene to take the bodies for analysis.

Luis ‘Ronni’ Mendoza Garcia, who was in the passenger seat of the pickup truck, was a well-known singer in the area and belonged to the band Los Ronaldos. In the last few weeks, he had launched a “narcocorrido” song. Narcocorridos are songs about drug trafficking and crime.

Local media report that the singer had asked for protection from the authorities after he felt he was being chased when he left the funeral of a man nicknamed Pepe Gangas, who was killed on Thursday.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been reported. No motive has been provided for the crime.
