This dad arrested for raping his two teenage daughters – leaving the eldest pregnant with his baby – says he did it because his wife refused sex.

The shocking incident took place in the district of Trapeang Prasat in the north-western Cambodian province of Oddar Meanchey at the suspect’s home where he lives with his wife and five children, three sons and two daughters.

The father, identified as former soldier Kak Phally, is locked up in a pre-trial detention centre and faces up to 15 years behind bars if found guilty of aggravated sexual assault, according to the local police.

He is accused of raping his 19- and 14-year-old daughters with the eldest now reportedly seven months pregnant with his baby.

According to police spokesperson Major Nuon Chamroeun, the 52-year-old father dad started sexually assaulting his eldest daughter in 2014 when she was 14 years old, adding that he would carry out the alleged acts while everyone else was out of the home.

Chamroeun said: “After raping her, he would tell her not to tell her mother or anyone else and threatened to kill her if she did.”

The spokesperson added that in March this year, the dad started raping his youngest daughter and also intimidated her so that she would not tell anyone. 

Phally’s wife then grew suspicious when her eldest daughter became pregnant and quizzed her about it.

The teenager confessed to what had been going on in the house and the wife filed a complaint with the police.

When cops came to arrest the 52-year-old dad, his youngest daughter spoke up and accused him of rape as well, according to local media.

Reports said that the father admitted to the offences, adding that he only did it because his wife would not have sex with him.

The investigation is ongoing.
