This is the moment armed robbers wearing motorcycle crash helmets steal 140,000 GBP of jewellery from a shop next to a Tesco hypermarket.

A customer inside the jeweller’s shop managed to film the robbery in the small town of Bangi, in the Malaysian state of Selangor, just south of the capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

Four robbers escaped with valuables worth 700,000 MYR (140,000 GBP) in the raid and are still at large.

The men burst into the shop brandishing a handgun and a hammer, and threatened three sales assistants who were serving six customers at the time.

A security guard was on duty in the store at the time but cops said he was paralysed with fear when one of the robbers pointed a gun at him.

Police say CCTV footage showed that the entire robbery was completed inside five minutes. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Officers are now studying that video, and the eyewitness smartphone clip, to try to identify the robbers.

Kajang District Police deputy chief Supt Mohd Sabri Abdullah said all four robbers wore crash helmets. One of them carried what seemed like a pistol while another had a hammer.

He said: “All the men were seen using the main entrance to get in and out of the hypermarket.”
