An Italian man has tragically lost his life after he was electrocuted while using the hairdryer in the bathroom.
Passionate football fan Leonardo Schingaro, 31, had just come home from the city of Munich, in Bavaria, Germany where he attended a Champion’s League match.
The man from the Japigia district, in the city of Bari, Italy, then rushed to play a game he had planned earlier with his buddies on Monday, 7th November.
Following the friendly match, he headed home and decided to immediately hit the bathroom to freshen up.
But just as he finished the shower, he was electrocuted by the hairdryer after he turned it on.
Italian emergency crews rushed to the victim’s apartment following the incident, but failed in their attempts to revive him.
His body was handed over to the authorities to determine the cause of his death.
Grazia Romito, one of his friends, said: “I’m upset, it’s inexplicable, what happened seems absurd to us.
“I’ve known him for almost 10 years, he was a fantastic guy, a person so nice and full of life.”
Another friend, Alessia Santoro said on Facebook: “Leonardo Schingaro, with your overwhelming smile and good mood that always managed to crack a laugh, we should all think about how lucky we are and we don’t know, how we need to appreciate and live every day to the fullest…
“Bad mood and negative feelings are useless if fate decides independently the end of each of us.
“My friend, keep messing around from up there like only you know, we will cherish and keep your memory alive looking back on all the good times we shared. I love you r.i.p.”
