This is the shocking moment doctors in full protective gear show the reality of life for coronavirus patients on ventilators inside a Russian hospital.

The images were recorded in the infectious diseases hospital in the city of Krasnodar in the western Russian region of the same name.

In the video, doctors can be seen getting into full protective gear before they enter the ward where the COVID-19 patients are being treated.

The patients can be seen in their beds connected to several machines, with a voice off-camera saying they are connected to ventilators.

At the end of the harrowing clip, a doctor says: “Please stay home to save your own life together with those around you.”

The video was posted online with the message: “Once again we want to remind you that it’s better to stay home. Please share this video so as many people as possible see it.”

Local media report almost all of the 65 beds available at the hospital are occupied with COVID-patients.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, there have been 15,770 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia, with 130 deaths.
