Gorgeous ex-Miss Poland Marcelina Zawadzka has announced that she will take part in an off-road rally through the Sahara desert after passing her truck driving test.

The 30-year-old TV presenter, who was crowned Miss Poland 2011, aims to get behind the wheel of a huge truck and take part in the off-road Africa Eco Race, launched in response to the cancellation of the 2008 Dakar Rally and its subsequent relocation to South America, in January 2020.

The leggy blonde had already passed her theory exam with no mistakes and she has now completed the practical test, according to reports.

She said: “I have dreamed about driving a truck for a long time and I went on the course a few months ago. I started it before I was invited to take part in the rally.”

The Africa Eco Race leads through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal and competitors have to navigate over 6,000 kilometres of the unforgiving desert.

Africa Eco Race 2020 sets off from Monte Carlo in the Principality of Monaco before sailing from Italy to the Moroccan port of Tangiers heading south through Morocco and onto the desert before finishing in the western Senegalese capital Dakar.

Zawadzka will be a part of a Polish team that includes Paris-Dakar Rally veterans Jacek Czachor and Marek Dabrowski as well as Grzegorz Baran who will accompany her in the cab.

Baran said: “I will watch over her. Anyone can be transported in a truck, but that’s not the point. The point is for her to drive and understand what such a rally means. She will definitely remember this adventure forever.”

The Africa Eco Race has been taking place since 2009 after the Dakar Rally was moved to South America due to terrorist concerns in some of the African states where the route passed.
