Cops have arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing his teenage girlfriend to death after she refused to send him nude pictures.

The arrest comes over a year after Andriana Yubelia Noven Cahya, 18, was stabbed to death as she was walking home from school in the city of Bogor on Java Island in Indonesia in January 2019.

The teenager suffered a stab wound to the left side of her chest from behind and bled to death.

Cops initially suspected her boyfriend having studied the unreleased CCTV footage from the scene.

Investigators gathered evidence for over a year before arresting the unnamed boyfriend this weekend.

Police sources report the pair met on an online gaming platform and began a long-distance relationship as the suspect lived in East Java.

The suspect then reportedly began asking the victim to send him nude pictures, which she refused to do.

In the hope of showing him the ridiculousness of his requests, she asked him to send nude pictures of himself first, which he did, according to reports.

The suspect is then said to have repeatedly asked the victim to send pictures of her, and she reportedly told him she would spread his nude picture online if he did not stop pestering her.

Cops say the suspect then told the victim he was going to Bogor to murder her.

He has been arrested but it is unclear if he has been charged.
