This is the moment a huge mobile medical surgery is swept along a flooded street near Madrid as heavy rainstorms continue to batter several Spanish regions.

The footage was filmed in the municipality of Arganda del Rey in the central Spanish autonomous community of Madrid and posted on Twitter together with other images of the damage caused.

The floods followed a cold front and severe storms that have particularly affected the country’s south-eastern regions and now the south-eastern part of the Community of Madrid.

In the footage, two structures including the mobile medical cabin are seen being swept along the city street, flooded with dirty water. Another clip shows residents standing in doorways as they film another flooded street.

According to local media, the municipality is still reeling from storms and flood damage that battered the area at the end of August.

Reports said that many of the same streets and areas have been affected again.

Resident Juan Carlos Cano told local media: “We have not had enough time to sort out the damage from the last one – and now this!”

Local residents have been told to stay at home and not use their cars while the flooding continues.

The cold front has led to adverse weather conditions in 14 Spanish provinces and six deaths have been reported so far while over 4,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.

Anghels Adela Geahina, a 34-year-old food store worker, told reporters that she was trapped in the shop and had to call the emergency services because “the water was up to my waist”.
