A hippie father who called himself ‘Jesus’ is on trial in Germany for the death of his youngest son due to his traditionalist views that prevented the family from attending school or seeing doctors.

Local media said that defendant Colin G., 38, had to be carried inside the Magdeburg Regional Court in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt by court security on Thursday because he refused to enter on his own.

The self-proclaimed ‘Jesus of Wefensleben (German village)’ is accused of killing his 14-month-old son Oskar who died on 2nd September 2020 of an untreated ear infection, according to reports.

Living by extreme beliefs, the 38-year-old father prohibited his four children (aged 7, 6, 3, and 1) from going to school or seeing a doctor, which led to complications with little Oskar’s illness.

Following certain Amish traditions, the defendant also forbade his wife Annika M., 43, from using an electric stove and she had to cook with candles, according to local media.

He even reportedly de-registered his family from the Federal Republic’s records.

At the beginning of the trial, Colin G. was carried into the Magdeburg Regional Court by force. He was brought from a psychiatric institution where he is currently staying due to his inability to accept responsibility for his actions, according to local media.

The father and his 43-year-old wife are accused of murder by omission.

Chief prosecutor Marina Klein stated: “Although Oskar was in severe pain because of an acute ear inflammatory infection, the parents did not get medical help. With a well-timed intervention, the child could have been saved.”

On September 2nd, Colin G. waited for an ambulance with his dead child while his wife ran away with their three other children. After four months of hiding, she turned herself in to the police in January.

On Thursday, she told the court: “I put my own and my children’s lives in Colin’s hands. He manipulated me, played mind games with me.”

According to her confession, her husband also threatened to take their children away from her.
