This is the moment a security guard shoots at suspected thieves as they flee in a car before one of the detained suspects who is kicked in the face while lying on the ground with his hands tied.
The incident was filmed in the western Peruvian capital Lima after the armed security guard was alerted by a cop blowing his whistle.
According to reports, the police officer saw the suspects stealing a laptop and stereo from a parked red car.
In the footage, the guard is seen standing in front of the suspects’ black vehicle with his gun pointed at it.
One of the alleged thieves gets out of the vehicle and lies on the ground before his accomplice speeds off.
The guard is seen shooting at the fleeing suspect twice before detaining his accomplice on the pavement.
In the next scene, more police officers have arrived and the suspect is cuffed while one onlooker kicks him in the head as he lies on the ground. He is then seen bleeding from his mouth with drops of blood on the pavement.
The suspect has been identified as Neiser Altamirano Abanto and he has been placed in police custody, according to local media.
Meanwhile, the local authorities are using the footage to identify the suspect who fled from the scene in the black vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
