Tillie Kottmann, 23, reportedly gained access to the huge list of 1.5 million people, including terrorists, who are banned from flying in the US, and, according to Swiss and American media, she did it because she was bored.

Kottmann reportedly confirmed that she was behind the no-fly list hack and stated that she did it out of boredom.

The hacker reportedly discovered the US’ no-fly list on an unsecure computer on Friday, 20th January, with the leak reportedly causing waves in Washington.

The transgender Swiss hacker, from Lucerne, said she used to go by the name Tillie Kottmann but now reportedly goes by the pseudonym ‘Maia Arson Crimew’, also spelt ‘maia arson crimew’.

Kottmann was indicted by a US grand jury in 2021 for allegedly hacking into dozens of companies, as part of the ‘Advanced Persistent Threat 69420’ hacker collective, and government organisations and faces an arrest warrant on American soil.

As the alleged head of the collective, she is said to be behind the hack of over 150,000 surveillance cameras that were operated by the US company Verkada in March 2021. Verkada, based in California, develops cloud-based security systems.
