This is the moment a shrieking teen pummels her own mother in the street after she refused to let her buy an iPhone 13.

The incident was filmed outside a mobile phone store in the city of Changzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu on 20th December.

Several videos were shared on the social network Douyin, which is what TikTok is known as in China, where they have been widely circulated by netizens.

The footage shows the teenager screaming and hitting her mother in front of a group of onlookers in the street after they apparently arrived on a scooter.

At one point, the girl, reportedly 15 years old, is seen sobbing on the ground while pulling on someone’s trouser leg.

Eyewitness Mr Zhou said the incident took place after the mother agreed to let her daughter buy the iPhone 13, but suddenly changed her mind outside the store at the last moment.

He added: “Onlookers did not succeed in calming down the girl and then police arrived on the scene to deal with it.

“In the end, the girl bought a new mobile phone.”

The teenager reportedly worked hard to save enough money for the iPhone and went to the store with her mum in an excited mood.

However, her mother changed her mind outside the shop, sparking the violent tantrum in the street.

A police spokesperson told local media: “Our public security department has already dealt with this matter and there is nothing more to add.”
