Schoolboy Stabs Girl In Head With Pen After She Giggled During Presentation

Students at an elementary school were shocked when during a project presentation, a classmate stabbed a girl in the face with a pen after claiming she had mocked his work.

The incident, involving minors, aged 14 and 13 at the Dom Jacson Damasceno Municipal School, in the Brazillian city of Manaus, was captured on May 8th by one of the students who were filming the group presenting their science project.

In the footage, six boys are seen presenting their work which has been drawn out on a poster in front of the class.

One of the boys holding the poster begins his presentation, however, his classmate in the front row, begins to giggle.

Irritated by the mockery, the boy pulls out a pen from his pocket and proceeds to thrust it into the girl’s face multiple times before other pupils are seen rushing in to stop him.

According to the Municipal Secretariat of Education (Semed) the unnamed student, aged 14, was immediately taken by relevant authorities.

In a statement obtained by Newsflash Semed said: “The student, who hit his classmate with a pen, was immediately forwarded by the Military Police (PM) to the Specialized Police Station for the Investigation of Infractions (DEAAI), accompanied by those responsible for the two students and the manager of the teaching unit.”

Semed also stated that the 14-year-old student will be subjected to psychological evaluation at a local sociopsychological centre.

The 13-year-old girl, who sustained multiple blows, was taken for treatment by emergency services.

She was quickly released after the incident with superficial injuries to her head.

In a video appeal, the boy’s father, Jhon Kennedy, said he did not receive assistance from the school or the City Hall regarding the incident.

He also stated that he was threatened online and was forced to move out of his home.

All sectors of Semed, related to the fight against violence in schools, are engaged in investigating the incident.
