This is the shocking moment a boy barely old enough for school gets a lethal lesson in terrorism in the West Bank.
The lad – wearing a camouflage tracksuit – looks on as a man prepares a deadly assault rifle for firing.
After watching his teacher cock the gun and turn it to single-shot mode, the lad learns how to cradle it into his right shoulder.
Then the boy – who looks no older than six – is shown by his smiling instructor where to put his hands and how to pull the trigger.
Finally, he lets fly with a single round and looks over his shoulder as if asking if he’s done it right.
The video was shared by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) – the military of the State of Israel – on Twitter on 24th January.
The IDF wrote: “This video was taken in Nablus. When we let terrorists take over education, this is the result.”
Nablus is a Palestinian city in the West Bank. Governed by the Palestinian National Authority, its population is predominantly Muslim.
Commenting on another event – allegedly a “Hamas event in the Jenin Camp” – the IDF said: “Terrorism should not be a part of the curriculum.
“Children have a right to a proper education.”
Bizarrely, a Twitter user named Gal Atzmon dragged former professional footballer Gary Lineker into the conversation.
After tagging the sports broadcaster, he wrote: “Mr. Lineker, I hope this helps you understand the situation we live in.
“I’m not advising you what to think. But I wish you would think before you post and understand the influence you have. Thanks.”
Lineker has previously spoken out about what he views as the mistreatment of Palestinians by Israeli officials.
