This is the hilarious moment a man scares off a large rat by shouting when he sees it, making the spooked rat jump in fright and take off running.

The funny incident was captured on a surveillance camera in the man’s home in the city of Jiangmen, in the south-eastern Chinese province of Guangdong

The CCTV footage shows the unnamed man playing a video game on his tablet when suddenly a large rat runs up from around a corner.

As soon as the man notices the fuzzy creature approaching, he lets out a loud, surprised shout.

But his cry scares the rat so much that it jumps up in fear before scurrying right back to where it came from.

The relieved man cannot help but start laughing at the rodent’s unexpected and hilarious jump before getting back to his game.

Mr Chen, a friend of the screaming man, told local media that they later tried to catch the rat, but were unable to find it as it presumably hid out of fright.

The man shared the funny video on Douyin – the Chinese version of Tiktok – with the caption: “Do mice scare you or do you scare mice?”
