This incredible clip shows a group of Russian street racers recreating legendary video game Need for Speed with stunning accuracy on the busy streets of St Petersburg.

The group recreated Need For Speed: Most Wanted in the streets of Russia’s second-most-populous city Saint Petersburg in Leningrad Oblast.

In the video, a BMW M3 GTR can be seen on the screen with infographics showing an imaginary user selecting the vehicle before starting street races against other luxury cars including a Toyota Supra, Porsche Cayman, Mazda RX-8, Lancer Evolution VIII, Ford Mustang GT, and a Volkswagen Golf GTI.

The scenes are recorded from an angle similar to that used in the game and at one point the driver of the BMW has to speed away from a ‘police’ car on a busy road.

The video was shared by Chekunov Vladislav, who came up with the idea to recreate the famous video game which was turned into a film franchise.

Speaking to Newsflash, Vladislav said: “I only drove only the car following the ones in the video. I was just shooting the scenes.”

Vladislav said the group did not have any issues with the traffic police so far and the vehicle seen with sirens in the video was a fake created by them,

When asked by Newsflash if he plans on creating more videos, he said: “I would definitely like to shoot more videos like this but did not yet choose which part of NFS that is going to be.”

According to reports, this is not the first video he has recreated Need For Speed, sharing another two videos with the ‘Underground’ version of the game, where an imitation of the settings menu, sounds and effects from the original game were also included.

Need for Speed: Underground is was released by Electronic Arts in 2004 while Need for Speed: Most Wanted was released in 2012.
