A Russian singer in a coma for two months with suspected COVID has posted images of her painfully thin frame after her ordeal.

Since recovering from her hospital treatment, singer Marina Maximova, 38, better known as MakSim, has been sharing updates on Instagram for her 1 million followers.

She was diagnosed suffering from an extreme form of pneumonia which doctors suspect was COVID-19, even though a test came back negative. However, the test results are not always accurate at detecting the disease.

Many fans have expressed their support for the pop star, but also pointed out that she appears frighteningly thin and urged her to rebuild her strength.

Marina’s problems started in mid-June when she was forced to cancel a concert to be admitted to the hospital for pneumonia.

The singer said on Instagram that she had not been feeling well for a few days, during which time she took the COVID-19 tests that all came out negative.

She admitted that she thought it was just a cold and performed one concert date at the time while suffering from a fever.

However, by the time she was taken to hospital, 40 percent of the singer’s lungs had been damaged, and she was placed on a ventilator and diagnosed with a severe form of pneumonia.

According to reports, she spent over a month in an induced coma and eventually pulled through despite doctors giving her a slim chance of making it.

She told her followers that she was out of the coma in a post on 9th August, where she also thanked doctors and her fans for all their support.

According to the news site Komsomolskaya Pravda, Marina only weighed 34 kilogrammes (5.4 stone) when she left the hospital, and she has been recovering at home since.

The singer shares images of her taking walks and socialising with loved ones on Instagram for her fans to keep up with her progress.

However, one photo of her walking in white jeans and a white denim jacket on 20th September apparently shows her looking overly thin and fragile.

Netizen ‘Rimma.gabdieva’ said: “It’s good that everything ended well.”
