A Russian man has been stopped and fined for speeding by traffic cops while rushing to hospital with the tip of his finger missing after an accident with a saw at home.
The incident took place in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk in the Russian region of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug when the man, name not disclosed, was driving to hospital for urgent medical attention.
He claimed the police did not care about his injury and bleeding hand and simply wrote up a fine before allowing him to continue to hospital.
The man said he cut off the tip of his finger with a circular saw at home and that he told the cops “I’m on my way to hospital”.
He said the police responded with the word “fine” before issuing the penalty, adding: “That’s all [they said]. Are our police taking care of us?”
Meanwhile, the man arrived at hospital and received the medical attention he needed.
The regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed that they are aware of the video, viewed over 30,000 times on the Russian social network VK, and condemned the traffic cops’ behaviour.
They confirmed that the law enforcement officers had acted inappropriately and that the matter was being fully investigated.
