Russian Kids Play In Icy Park In Minus 50 Degrees Centigrade

This is the moment three kids play in an icy park in far-eastern Russia in temperatures of almost minus 50 degrees Celsius after local schools were closed due to the extreme cold.

The video was filmed in the village of Kylai in the district of Ust-Aldansky in the far-eastern Russian republic of Sakha while first- to eighth-grade students were taking lessons online due to the weather conditions.

The local authorities said that nearly 700 children did not attend school due to the temperature dropping to almost minus 50 degrees Celsius.

A video of the children playing in the frozen park was shared on social media on 22nd November.

In the footage, three children are seen playing on a merry-go-round in temperatures registered at that time as minus 48 degrees Celsius.

The footage resonated with many netizens, with online user ‘Yulia Sabitova’ commenting: “I remember my childhood in Krasnoyarsk. It was just like this. We would wear three pairs of trousers and three sweaters and go to play outside.”

Netizen ‘Lyko’ wrote: “They must use good lubricants, as the merry-go-round is spinning well at this temperature.”

‘Eko’ said: “In Poland, even a thermal power plant would freeze at that temperature.”

And ‘Ciort’ commented: “It’s Putin preparing young soldiers to conquer the Earth’s poles!”
