Russian Commuters Jump Into Waist High Snowdrift On Platform After Strong Storm

This is the moment Russian passengers disembark a train and drop into a waist-high snowdrift on the platform after the authorities only had time to clear the tracks.

The funny scene was filmed at the train station in the village of Goitkh in the south-western Russian region of Krasnodar Krai.

According to the news site Kuban, a strong snowstorm battered the area, and the train services continued as normal.

Rail workers had time to clear the tracks, but not enough time to remove excess snow from the platforms. Therefore, passengers had to jump into a waist-high snowdrift when disembarking.

In the footage, the train doors are seen opening as a young female in a yellow jacket jumps from the carriage into the thick snow, covering her to chest level.

Another woman jumps out with her bags and gasps as she wades through the snowdrift up to her waist.

Meanwhile, a third woman appears to have trouble getting her right leg out of the train as she fights her way through the snow.

One passenger named Marina, who was returning home on the night train, told local media: “We had to jump straight into the snowdrift. But it was okay, I went onto the street and dusted myself off.”

Several hours after the video was recorded, workers were seen starting to clear the platform.

Many local residents said they had never seen so much snow at this time of the year.
