A Russian mum has been slammed for allowing her three-year-old son to smoke a hookah at an Egyptian holiday resort.

The shocking footage reportedly took place at an undisclosed Egyptian resort where the mother from Russia, identified by the name Vera Burnasheva, was enjoying a holiday with her two children aged three and seven.

The video with the boy that is her three-year-old son was shot and shared by Vera on her Instagram page where it quickly attracted widespread criticism.

It shows the boy smoking the traditional hookah which is usually used for smoking tobacco where the smoke is, first of all, passed through water before being inhaled.

A voice off-camera can be heard saying: “Here were are smoking hookah, heating shrimps and having fun.”

The footage itself shows the boy seemingly inhaling the smoke without difficulty and also pans around to show the table which contains plates with crabs, shrimps and strawberries.

The chief narcologist of Russia, Yevgeny Bryun, responded to the video accusing the mother of her “insanity”.

He said: “Crazy mothers! I think that from one hit there will probably be no great harm. But the main harm in this situation is that it is unlikely that the mother will stop there.

He added: “The majority of this type of problems start in the families. Children imitate their parents, especially bad habits, and if the parents don’t act then they will grow up like that. The boy will definitely get used to smoking.”

It also caused a storm of protest online.

Netizen @ksuwenka86 wrote: “There’s nothing can be done with the stupid parents. Who will he become in his life with such a mother?!”.

And @nataliyapetrova wrote: “If this vid gets to the relevant authorities, the mum will have to fight to get her child back.”
