This is the moment a brave British girl, 10, who has beaten cancer twice in her short life sings a cute rap song about her struggles and hopes for the future.

In the clip we see Ruby, 10, from Manchester, belt out an adorable rap song that she wrote herself telling the story of her life and giving thanks to the medics who saved her.

According to her mum, Adelle Wright, 38, Ruby was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, on 29th September 2010. At the time she was just 14 months old.

The brave youngster battled with a large tumour near her oesophagus and eventually was given the all-clear in May 2011 after undergoing chemotherapy and proton beam therapy in the US.

Proton beam therapy is a type of radiotherapy which uses a beam of high energy protons to treat specific types of cancer.

Life returned to normal for the young girl – whose hobbies include singing playing on the computer, being with friends and family and playing football.

However, tragedy struck once more on 28th December 2019 when Ruby found a lump in her sternum.

Sadly, scans and biopsies found that she had been struck down with cancer again.

Barve Ruby, who has a younger sister, Rosie, aged 6, then underwent a seven-hour operation on 22nd January 2020 to remove the tumour.

During the operation, her surgeon at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, Mr Ross Craigie, had to remove three quarters of her sternum, cartilage and parts of her ribs.

The top medic managed to remove all the cancer this time without the need for chemotherapy.

Writing about her condition her Mum, Adelle Wright, wrote: “Ruby is well in herself. Still sore and still going to the theatre every week under a general anaesthetic to have her VAC suction dressing removed, wound care and then having the dressing put back on.”

Speaking to Newsflash about her daughter’s hopes for future, Adelle, 38, said: “Ruby would love to be a singer when she’s older.

“Music is everything to Ruby.

“Ruby loves Aitch and Little Mix. They’re her two favourites and she loves all their songs.”

Meanwhile, the mum-of-two admits she is beaming with pride about her daughter’s achievements.

She told Newsflash: “I couldn’t be any prouder of Ruby if I tried. When she first sang the song to me I was in floods of tears. It broke my heart completely but also made me burst with pride. For Ruby to write about her feelings was hard for her.”

Meanwhile, Adelle added that her big-hearted daughter also wants to work to help homeless people.

She added: “I just want my girls to live a happy and healthy life. Nice family times, holidays, doing fun things together.”
