The images show the tweets by the two Portuguese stars with Ronaldo’s coming three hours prior to Figo’s, however, with an identical message down to the heartbroken emoji.

The messages read: “So sad to hear the heartbreaking news of the deaths of Kobe and his daughter Gianna. Kobe was a true legend and inspiration to so many.

“Sending my condolences to his family and friends and the families of all who lost their lives in the crash. RIP Legend.”

Figo’s post included a picture of him posing with Bryant while Ronaldo’s had a picture of the basketball icon by himself holding a basketball.

Netizens took to social media to voice their disapproval of the tweets as several noticed the identical messages shortly after Figo’s post.

‘jhoel_alcala’ said: “That already exists Mr Franki, Ronaldo wrote it three hours ago.”

‘SoyEsq’ wrote: “Come on Figo, are you joking?”

‘king_jayz23’ commented: “You need to run to your CM (community manager) and apologise man! If you cannot write a message, send a video. Do not give condolences when they are not genuine. The same goes to @Cristiano.”

‘Fher8319’ said: “Copy… Paste.”

‘mau_trucho’ wrote: “Figo did not do his homework at school.”

Neither Ronaldo nor Figo have commented on their statement and nor deleted their posts.

Bryant died in a helicopter accident on Sunday 26th January along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore Bryant and a reported seven others.

They reportedly crashed into a hillside in the city of Calabasas located in the state of California in the United States of America. They were going to a basketball match where Kobe Bryant was expected to coach and Gianna Bryant was expected to play.
