Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo by Barcelona legend Rivaldo.
The 2002 World Cup champion made the comments to Betfair following the Brazilian striker’s impressive performance in the 6-0 win over Galatasaray this Wednesday 6th November.
Rodrygo, 18, scored a perfect hat-trick with his first two goals coming in the 4th and 7th minutes. His third came in injury time with an assist from French striker Karim Benzema.
Following his impressive performance, Rivaldo praised his “young compatriot” saying “Rodrygo is helping his club reach the level it had when Cristiano Ronaldo was there.
“He is starting to gain the right to be a starter with his performances. Zidane’s confidence in a player like him is important for his growth in Europe.”
Rivaldo also mentioned the Brazilian national team saying the 18-year-old is “lucky to play in a club in Champions at such a young age” adding that “all of Brazil and Tite are seeing his goals” which means “we will surely see him playing more regularly for the national team.”
Tite is the current coach of the Brazilian national team.
The victory helped Real Madrid reach seven points in four Champions League matches placing them behind Paris Saint-Germain who have 12 points in Group A.
