This is the cute moment grey and black donkeys, Ricky and Fergal, play with a tyre in their enclosure, enjoying the day.
The two donkeys called Ricky (17) and Fergal (14) are residents of the Donkey Sanctuary in the town of Sidmouth, in Devon, located in South West England.
The Donkey Sanctuary posted the adorable video on Facebook this week.
Catherine Rice, PR Officer of The Donkey Sanctuary told Clipzilla that they are both miniature donkeys, a particular breed that is “very small in stature but big in personality”.
The video shows Ricky and Fergal playing with the tire as if they were dogs, trying to keep it for themselves.
The Donkey Sanctuary is the world’s largest equine welfare charity, working worldwide.
Their vision is a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering and their contribution to humanity is fully valued.
They run 10 sanctuaries around the UK and Europe, giving lifelong care to more than 7,000 donkeys and mules.
According to Rice, the donkeys playing with the tires are actually enjoying some enrichment.
The aim of this practice is to give them more things to do as this is an essential part of their care which includes play.
Physical stimulation also plays an important part in their wellbeing and they have the opportunity to play with many objects.
Enrichment also prevents boredom and increased exercise helps to maintain a healthy weight.
