A 71-year-old man has had a lucky escape after bungling paramedics pronounced him dead and placed him in a body bag, only for a reporter filming the scene to notice the bag moving.
Street food vendor Raimundo Nonato Santana da Silva suddenly fell ill while riding his motorbike to the market in the Brazilian city of Araguaina on the morning of Tuesday, 29th June.
As a result, he fell off his vehicle and paramedics called to the scene pronounced him dead.

They placed his body in a bag and left the scene when the police arrived to supervise the body until the coroners arrived.
However, moments later, the police officers and a reporter covering the incident noticed the bag moving very slightly on its own.
Reporter Geovanni Pereira told news site G1: “When I arrived, the bag was already closed.”

In the footage, the bag can be seen moving, which resulted in the man being rescued.
He said: “They (the cops) opened it and I saw a small bubble of air coming out of the corner of his mouth. I performed CPR on him for 10 minutes out of a gut instinct to help.”
The sheepish paramedics were called back to the scene and they took the man to hospital alive. His current condition has not been divulged.

The paramedics have since said they performed CPR on the man when they were first called to the scene. However, they pronounced him dead “based on technical evaluation”.
They have said they will look over the man’s medical record to try to understand what happened.
Pereira told G1: “We were in the right place at the right time. I think it was a miracle.”
