This is the moment three separate slithering snakes entangle their bodies in a battle for territory in a scene which has been described as a first.
The startling scene was recorded by an onlooker in a village close to the town of Banswara in the state of Rajasthan in northern India after heavy rainfall reportedly drew the snakes out of a forest.
In the video, the three long black rat snakes can be seen on a road rearing up and entangling their bodies.

At one point two of the snakes become completely entangled before the third snake joins and they become platted.
One of the snakes then appears to land a bite on another and the victim slithers away as the other two continue fighting.
Suvendu Mallik, who founded Snake Helpline, a voluntary organisation working for rescue and rehabilitation of snakes in India, told reporters that the male snakes were fighting over territory.
Mallik says he believes it is the first such incident of three snakes fighting at the same time seen in India.
He confirmed the snakes were not mating as their tails were not in the copulating position.
