This is the moment a suspected rapist is dragged along the ground with his trousers pulled down by an angry mob who then pummel him with kicks, sticks and a broom.

The unnamed man, who was accused of raping a 54-year-old woman, was reportedly beaten in the city of Bernal in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires.

In the footage, the 23-year-old suspect is seen being dragged along the ground with his trousers pulled down before being kicked and beaten with sticks and a broom.

According to local media, the 54-year-old victim went to the young man’s house for a meeting where drugs and alcohol were allegedly offered.

She then reportedly ran out of the suspect’s house asking for help and claiming that she had been raped.

A group of residents helped her and then searched the 23-year-old man’s home, according to local media.

One eyewitness told reporters: “They were ready to kill him.”

The police arrived on the scene and stopped the alleged lynching before the injured victim was taken to the Hospital Dr Isidoro G. Iriarte in the city of Quilmes.

A police spokesperson told local media: “He is badly hurt, but he has been arrested anyway.”

The suspect underwent all required tests and the authorities are currently waiting for the results.

Reports said that he was charged with sexual abuse as the investigation continues.
