This is the moment a water buffalo comes out of nowhere and knocks a woman off her moped on a busy crossing in the middle of a city.

After the water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) runs out of view, the woman struggles to get up and several drivers around her appear to make absolutely no attempt to check if she is okay.

The bizarre incident was recorded by an unidentified driver’s dash-cam in the Chinese city of Yulin in the Shaanxi province earlier today, 9th November.

It is not clear how the water buffalo ended up roaming the streets of an urban city with a population in excess of three million people, but according to the news site Weibo, it ran riot through the city’s downtown area.

As seen in the clip, the powerful animal smashes the woman off her bike, apparently damaging the vehicle and even knocking her helmet clean off her head.

After smashing into the woman, the water buffalo continued to charge through the city with cops in hot pursuit.

The police eventually caught up with the animal, which when fully grown can weigh over a ton, and surrounded it with several patrol vehicles.

It was then shot by the police.

No further information on the injuries suffered by the woman was reported by local media.

It is not clear if the water buffalo injured anyone else during its rampage through the crowded city.
