This is the moment a quick-thinking man saves an OAP from being run over by a reversing lorry.

The lucky escape took place in the city of Yuncheng in the Chinese province of Shanxi on 22nd January.

According to the news site Sina, the elderly man strayed into the lorry driver’s blind spot and would have probably been run over had the onlooker not intervened.

In the footage, the rescuer is seen standing outside a building as the lorry passes the entrance and an elderly person starts crossing the street.

He sees the lorry driver stop in the road and put the vehicle intro reverse, apparently about to back into the unmade road. However, the OAP is walking slowly behind the back of the trailer at the same time and is about to be run over.

Realising the elderly man is about to be hit by the reversing lorry, the quick-thinking onlooker sprints over to help.

The OAP pauses in his tracks when he sees the man running towards him, and then glances at the back of the lorry about to hit him.

The rescuer pulls the elderly man out of the way at the last moment, slipping to the ground in the process.

The hero bystander then walks into the road to apparently have words with the lorry driver as the elderly man continues on his way.
