A burly convict dressed as a woman walked free from jail after posing as a visitor to stroll through the gates unchallenged.

Violent crook Cesar Ramon Ortiz Sosa, 36, donned a skirt, hoodie, black wig and even false boobs to fool guards during an official visiting time at the jail.

Astonishing security CCTV footage shows Sosa – nicknamed Gordito, or ‘Chubby’ – swaggering through the gates as a guard holds them open for him.

Now justice chiefs have ordered an investigation into Tacumbu National Prison in the Paraguayan capital Asuncio, to discover how he pulled it off.

Ortiz – a member of a violent Mafia-style gang – was recaptured by police still in his outlandish disguise after the breakout on 29th May.

Prison guards claimed they were fooled by the disguise, but local reports say four people have already been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the escape.

Justice minister Edgar Olmedo confirmed that four people have been arrested so far while 20 prison workers are currently on leave.

He said: “Evidently, there was the involvement of people who entered the prison and brought clothes for his disguise.

“Since the beginning of the investigation, we have also seen a lot of negligence on the part of the guards, bordering on complicity, which makes them have to answer for what happened.”
